ABOUT DRYDEN DESIGN

Dryden Design, LLC is led by Victoria Dryden, American Society of Interior Designers.  Victoria has worked on many projects ranging from the the kitchen design of a small New York City apartment to project management of the interior restoration of a 200 year old Connecticut farmhouse.  Victoria holds a professional degree in Interior Architecture from Rhode Island School of Design and also has experience in furniture design, product design and set design.  She practices Feng Shui space clearing.  Victoria is NCIDQ qualified and licensed to practice Interior Design.

Dryden Design has worked with clients throughout the east coast.  Recent projects include a Barn/Boathouse renovation to create a wonderful family gathering and entertainment space for an historic home on the Connecticut waterfront with living room, built-in bar, guest bedroom, and kitchen.   She has also created the interior design of a newly constructed 4300 s.f. cedar home in the mountains of North Carolina.  The firm also has experience in Hospitality Design.  A recent project was the refurbishing of ten rooms in a small New England Inn.  In early 2003, Victoria did the lighting and interior finish details for the restoration of the the historic Hammond Mansion at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in Waterford, Connecticut.  Spring 2005 brought Victoria the delightful opportunity to work on The Learning Channel's Trading Spaces as both Design Assistant and seamstress.   Dryden Design  participated in a Designer Showhouse to benefit the Children's Museum of Southeastern Connecticut.  Victoria transformed the master bedroom into a beautiful, peaceful and deeply sensuous environment.

Dryden Design excels in home renovations and additions.  Projects have ranged from a massage studio/spa addition to a residence to the transformation of a 1990's ranch-style home into a farmhouse with a summer porch and barn/garage.  Victoria works with architects, contractors and sub-contractors, supplying drawings and full or partial project management.  All details are thought through regarding how the space will be used, the needs and desires of the inhabitants of the space, and the budget.  Victoria Dryden's 35 years of experience as a seamstress, sewing, reupholstering and making curtains led her to Architecture school to receiver her degree in Interior Architecture. With her level of experience and education, she understands both the softer and harder sides of construction.

Victoria Dryden is an instructor for Rhode Island School of Design's Continuing Education  Interior Design certificate program.

Whether it is a single consultation or a long-term implementation of a design plan, Dryden Design has a thoughtful, intelligent and creative approach to design.
